Violet Cai
Violet has recently joined the team at IRONBOUND. She has been working in the marine sector since 2019 taking on various administrative, nautical craft and sailing roles in Canada and the UK. Most recently, Violet sailed on PICTON CASTLE on its eighth world voyage.
Michael Moreland
Mike Moreland founded IRONBOUND RIGGING in 2019 and is a professional mariner and rigger with 20 years of experience, working his way up from deckhand to Captain on a large sailing yachts and tall ships including Picton Castle, Columbia, Amistad, Sorlandet, and many more.
He has always been keenly involved with the masting and rigging of all of these vessels and led countless up-rigs and down-rigs of these large tall ships. He holds a USCG 3000 ton Master of Sail and power, any oceans and was a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy in 2007.
Finn Keays
A professional sailor from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Finn got his start at sea on PICTON CASTLE on her 2nd World Voyage in 2000.
Since then, he has worked on all types of ships and has been the Bosun and recently Chief Mate on the 180ft barque EUROPA which sails to Cape Horn every winter.
He has been the lead on her ongoing maintenance including all the masting and rigging.
Christiane Perreault
Christiane is a very skilled and hard working sailor and rigger who often sails as Bosun on Schooner AVONTUUR carrying cargo under sail back and forth across the Atlantic.
She has been with IRONBOUND since 2020 and always brings high energy and passion to every project we take on.
Ben Vrignon
Benny has been with IRONBOUND for 5 years and has been involved with pretty much every project we have taken on.
He is very detail-oriented and loves overhauling winches, assembling furlers, and coming up with creative solutions for any rigging problems.
